have arrested a Peabody man in connection with a at on Jefferson Avenue.
Hosea Kendrick, 42 of Driscoll St. in Peabody was arrested at his home at approximately 1:30 p.m. Wednesday by Salem and Peabody detectives, Salem Police said.
Kendrick has a criminal history which has included jail time for offenses including assault and battery, larceny and armed robbery. In 2010 he was charged with stealing a cash register from the , according to the Salem News.
On Tuesday night, scanner reports indicated a man
"All available uniformed officers and detectives responded to the robbery call and an immediate search of the area was conducted," police reported.
Police said "Salem Detectives Brian St. Pierre and John Doyle viewed the store surveillance and conducted witness interviews. Kendrick, fitting the description, known to be in the immediate area, and known to partake in such criminal acts, was considered a strong suspect. Detectives then went to the apartment of a relative where they recovered clothing worn by the suspect."
Working into the early morning hours after the robbery, St. Pierre and Doyle obtained an arrest warrant for Kendrick and charged him with armed robbery and threatening to commit murder.
"Starting early this morning St. Pierre and Doyle, aided by Salem Detective Dennis Gaudet enlisted the help of Peabody Police and established a surveillance of the Driscoll Street Peabody address," police said.
Kendrick was found inside the apartment and arrested at approximately 1:30 p.m. At this time, the investigation is continuing as Salem detectives seek a search warrant for the Peabody apartment.
Patrol Supervisor Richard Gagnon commanded the Salem Police patrol response to Tuesday night's crime. Salem Police called the patrol "extensive."
