Neighbors Spit Over Parking Issues

The following was provided by the Salem Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The responded to the following calls and made the following arrests on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tuesday, July 3

4:49 p.m. — Larceny of a bike was reported on Essex Street.

4:57 p.m. — Marijuana and a pipe were found behind .

7:27 p.m. — A small child was found on Albion Street.

8:14 p.m. — An intoxicated man was reported in .

8:27 p.m.

8:58 p.m. — Larceny of a vehicle was reported on Rainbow Terrace.

9:01 p.m. — Fireworks were reported at Cabot and Hancock streets.

9:02 p.m. — Fireworks were reported on Mason Street.

9:06 p.m. — Police received calls about fireworks on Outlook Avenue and First Street.

Tuesday Arrests

Edwin Colon Jr., 33, of 117 Loring Ave. was arrested on a warrant.

Andres Gilderubio Jr., 61, of 255 Jefferson Ave. was arrested for violating the city's public drinking ordinance.

Rafael Lugo-Espaillat, 24, of 72 Palmer St. was arrested on a red light or stop sign violation and charges of illegal possession of a class B substance, passing where prohibited, speeding, sale or possession of a stun gun, failure to stop for police and an possession of an imitation firearm.

Xavier Marquez, 47, who is listed as homeless was arrested for violating the city drinking ordinance.

Wednesday, July 4

12:45 a.m. — A purse stolen from a vehicle was reported on Beaver Street.

12:56 a.m. — Larceny of jewelry was reported on Leach Street.

8:18 a.m. — Police responded to a dispute between neighbors on Wall Street. Police said a man accused his neighbor of walking in his garden and pushed him. Police said the neighbor "denied walking in the garden and stated it was squirrels."

11:07 a.m. — Police responded to Dunlap Street over a dispute between neighbors. A woman admitted to egging her neighbor's car and spitting at him over a parking issue.

2:29 p.m. — Police responded to Daniels Street on a fight between neighbors over a parking issue. A woman said her neighbor was poking her in the chest during an argument, and the other woman said her neighbor spit in her face.

3:31 p.m. — A group of kids on the roof were reported on Sewall Street.

Wednesday Arrests

Philip Hunt, 32, of 31 Margin St. was arrested on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, operating negligently and operating without being licensed.

Darryl Edward Long, 50, of 86 Dane St. in Beverly was arrested on a warrant.

Richard Martinez, 29, of 2 Lynn St. in Peabody was arrested on a warrant.

Victorino Ventura, 19, of 150 Hamilton St. in Lynn was arrested on charges of operating without being licensed, an improper left turn and a one-way street violation.
