Meet the K9s of the Salem Police Department

Meet the Salem Police Department's new police dogs.

The Salem Police Department's new K9 unit is making a real impact on crime in the city - having contributed to more than 20 arrests this year.

Thor, Kruger and Turbo - all two-year-old German Shepherds - work and live with their handlers, officers Ryan Davis, Jon Bedard and Tim Salvo.

The dogs and all related K9 expenses were paid through a Salem-community fundraising effort by The Mack Park Neighborhood Association, The Salem Lions Club, and The Salem Moose Family Center - in partnership with Massachusetts Vest-a-Dog, who also gave a $5000 grant.
