Man Gives Woman 'The Creeps' at Market Basket

The following was provided by the Salem Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The responded to the following calls and made the following arrests on Sunday and Monday.

Sunday, May 20

4:18 p.m. — Police responded to Lafayette Street on a report of threats. A woman said she had been served eviction papers the Friday prior, and "she claimed that the constable threatened her" and said "he was going to drag her out of the apartment on Tuesday."

4:54 p.m. — A missing person was reported on Lafayette Street.

5:16 p.m. — A neighbor yelling in a back yard was reported at Derby and Becket streets. Police spoke with a woman who said "she was not yelling, just talking loud." Police said the woman admitted to using curse words and she and another person said they were having a minor dispute, and they would quiet down.

5:20 p.m. — Police responded to on a call about a past assault with hot coffee.

5:21 a.m. — Police said a woman came into the station to report threats. She told police that while she was in front of her house that day, a man pulled up to her and stated: "Tell your husband to stop driving by my house so slowly every day. Tell him to stop walking by my wife at — he gives her the creeps. Tell him to stay away from us or there's gonna be problems." The woman said she doesn't know the man or where he lives. Police said the woman was not able to get a license plate, and she was advised to call back if the man returns or contacts her again.

5:34 p.m. — Police responded to threats again, this time at Lafayette and Peabody streets.

5:52 p.m. — Malicious damage to a vehicle was reported on Fairfield Street.

6:39 p.m. — Police responded to Downing Street on a report a man was verbally harassing his neighbor while she was grilling in the backyard. The man was intoxicated, police said. He was advised to keep his comments to himself, and he also agreed to "take it inside for the night," police said.

6:41 p.m. — Road rage was reported on Derby Street. Police said two men had an argument over a parking space.

7:22 p.m. — A man yelling at an elderly woman was reported on Herbert Street. Police said they spoke to a man who said his son had an argument with his grandmother, but there were no assaults.

9:16 p.m. — Kids throwing rocks were reported on Bridge Street.

11:08 p.m. — A woman yelling on the phone was reported on Walter Street, but she was gone when officers arrived, police said.

Sunday Arrests

Amanda Elwell, 29, of 17 Leavitt St., was arrested on two warrants.

John R. O'Connell, 81, of 11 Cedar St., in Marblehead, was arrested on a charge of operating under the influence of liquor (second offense).

Monday, May 21

4:53 a.m. — A break-in at the golfing range was reported on Swampscott Road.

7:57 a.m. — Police said a fight was reported on High Street.

9:52 a.m. — A past motor vehicle break-in was reported on Japonica Avenue.

10:21 a.m. — Work being done on a boat was reported on Blaney Street. Police said neighbors raised concerns that the man has been working on his boat in the Blaney Street lot. Police tried to talk to the man, but he was not home. Police said the boat will be towed if the man doesn't comply.

10:43 a.m. — An intoxicated man was reported on Crombie Street. Police said he was passed out and taken into protective custody.

10:58 a.m. — Police said a wallet stolen from a locker was reported.

2:42 a.m. — A woman reported someone broke into her Hayes Road home.

15:23 a.m. — Police said a stolen scooter was reported. A woman reported the scooter was taken from in front of her house after 10:30 a.m. that morning. Police said the scooter is light pink with leopard tape on the seat.

Monday Arrests

Noubar Hussein, 20, of 14 High St., was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery and malicious destruction of property.

Keith A. Dionne, 43, who is listed as homeless, was arrested on a warrant as well as on a charge of being a fugitive from justice.

Alexis Starr Bonacorso, 29, of 116 Lafayette St., was arrested on a charge of illegal possession of a Class E substance.

Ryan Joseph Beausoleil, 20, of 2 Linden St., was arrested on a warrant.
