Man Follows Woman From Peabody to Discuss Her 'Driving Habits'

Sunday, Dec. 19

• Police said street signs were found on Mason Street at 2:15 p.m. Sunday.

• A flattened tire on Dunlap Street was reported at 3:28 p.m. Police said a man said an unknown person punctured a rear tire on his truck. The resident said he doesn't know how it happened or who may have done it.

• Police received a call that a person on Highland Avenue was selling appliances from in front of his storage unit. Police said there had been an earlier complaint, and the person selling the items had agreed to stop. When police arrived, the man was not there, but there were several appliances in front of the unit. Police said they later learned a crew was on scene unloading household goods from a unit into a container. Police said they had identification, and they were not selling anything. Police called the man who had originally been selling items. He said the items were not his, and he gave the police the name and number of another man who said the items were his and he would move them inside. Police said there was no selling going on.

• A man sleeping in a doorway on Washington Street was reported at 8:11 p.m. Sunday.

• An unknown banging on a door was reported at the at 8:41 p.m. Sunday. Police said the caller told them a woman was banging on her door for over an hour. The woman was advised to call back if the woman returned.

• At 10 p.m. Sunday, police said a group in a vehicle was reported on Pope Street. The caller said there might have been possible drug activity in the vehicle. Police spoke with the group. When the officer explained why police were there, they consented to a search of the vehicle. Police said one admitted to smoking marijuana earlier and said there was a marijuana grinder in the center console. The same woman told police the marijuana was gone. Police said both people were checked and no contraband was found on them. There was a small amount of green material in the grinder. Police said the driver was a alert and steady on her feet.The people were sent on their way and the grinder was confiscated.

Monday, Dec. 19

• Loud music was reported on Chase Street at 12:17 a.m.

• Police responded to Central and Charter streets at 6:47 a.m. on a call about a man sleeping in the woods by the rear of . Police said the man was placed in protective custody.

• A dispute between neighbors was reported on Pope Street at 8:11 a.m. Police said a man reported his neighbor had been banging on the walls since 1 a.m. Police said the issue has been ongoing and they have been working with the appropriate agencies to resolve the issue.

• Police received a call about road rage at Bridge and Washington streets at 8:25 a.m. Monday. A woman said she was being followed by a sedan down 114 from Peabody into Salem. The woman stopped in the Church Street lot and the sedan followed her. Police said an officer arrived at the same time as the cars. The man in the sedan said the woman was driving erratically and he wanted to talk to her about her driving habits. Police said the man was told he should worry about his own driving habits in the future to avoid conflict with others. The woman was advised of the allegation, which she said was not true, and both people were sent on their way.

• Road rage was reported on Bridge Street at 8:37 a.m. A man told police another car almost grazed his.

• Larceny of items from a Warren Street home was reported at 9:16 a.m. Monday.

• Police said a Harbor Street resident reported her car was egged overnight. The woman said she had been having a dispute with someone via text.

• Fraud was reported at the Salem Police Station at 11:31 a.m. Monday.

• A past assault was reported on English Street at 2:30 p.m. Monday.

• An issue with a dog was reported on Marlborough Road at 3:57 p.m. Monday.
