Three-Alarm Fire Damages Salem Willows Home

Area firefighters extinguished a fire Thursday morning that broke out in a two-story home on Beach Avenue.

Firefighters from Salem and several other North Shore communities battled a three-alarm fire that broke out in an ocean-front home on Beach Avenue Thursday morning. 

At 8:39 a.m., police and fire units responded to a 911 call reporting that there was a fire in the basement of 1 Beach Ave.

The two-story home, located on the corner of Sutton Avenue, was an original Salem Willows summer camp house that had been converted to a single-family home, firefighters said. 

Three adults and three teenagers were displaced as a result of the fire and there were no reported injuries, according to fire officials. 

Firefighters from Marblehead, Lynn, Swampscott and Beverly assisted with the fire, which was was under control by about 10:30 a.m.
