Female Student Reports Photo of Her Being Circulated

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log:

Sunday, April 14

At 1:05 a.m. a caller reported a motor vehicle accident at Highland Avenue and Jackson Street.

At 8:06 a.m. a caller reported the theft of a motor vehicle license plate on Canal Street. 

At 11:31 a.m. a caller reported that the back window of her motor vehicle was smashed while parked at Salem Hospital.

At 4:31 p.m. a caller reported a stolen bicycle on Church Street. The caller said that whoever had taken the bike had a key to his shed and then cut a cable that the bike was locked into. The bike was valued at $400.

At 10:59 p.m. an officer observed a vehicle hit another car and then flee the scene. The officer pulled over the vehicle and arrested the operator. Police arrested Jill Mary Dufort, 53, of 38 Raymond Road, on Lafayette Street. Dufort was charged with operating under the influence of liquor and leaving the scene of an accident. 

Female Student Reports Photo Being Circulated at School

A female student on Foster Court reported that she was receiving harassing text messages from other students, which included a photo that was taken of her clothed backside.

The student said that the photo was taken at her school roughly a month ago and has been circulated in the school. Police advised the student to speak with school administrators and tell them that the photo is once again being circulated around school.
