$6,200 Diamond Ring Reported Stolen

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log:

Sunday, Dec. 16:

  • At 4:02 p.m., police responded to Lafayette Street after receiving word that a man had kicked and broken a door. Alex R. Ledford, 17, of 55 Broad St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of malicious destruction of property valued above $250.
  • At 5:14 p.m., police responded to a report of possible gunshots in the area of Orne Street. Fireworks were believed to be cause of the noises.
  • At 6:05 p.m., police responded to a report of possible drug activity on High Street.
  • At 9:54 p.m., police responded to Target for a report of shoplifting. Maxima L. Parkinson, 28, of 12 Pope St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting merchandise. Maria Parkinson, 32, of 12 Pope St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting.
  • At 11:03 p.m., police received word that a motor vehicle had been stolen on Congress Street.
  • At 11:03 p.m., police responded to a reported domestic assault and battery on Barnes Circle. Aaron J. Bingham, 30, 0f 22 Barnes Circle, Salem, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

  • At 12:10 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Lafayette Street.
  • At 1:27 a.m., police responded to a reported break-in at a home on Grove Street.
  • At 1:46 a.m., police responded to a report of a loud party on Hathorne Street.
  • At 11:01 a.m., police responded to a dispute on Ord Street between a landlord and a tenant.
  • At 11:51 a.m., a resident entered the police station with a bicycle discovered on Barton Square.

  • At 2:06 p.m., a dog was found on Highland Avenue.
  • At 2:34 p.m., a gold chain found outside of Walmart was turned over to police.
  • At 3:01 p.m., a Hillside Avenue man called police to report that a diamond ring that he kept inside a box in his house had been stolen. The ring was valued at $6,250.
  • A 3:15 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Upham Street.
  • At 3:45 p.m., police responded to a report of a dog tied up in front of a school on Memorial Drive.
