Caller Finds Half-Nude, Intoxicated Woman in Her Home

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The Salem Police responded to the following calls and made the following arrests on Thursday and Friday.  

Thursday, Sept. 20

6:52 p.m. — Possible shoplifting was reported at Salem Liquors, but police said there was no theft.

7:32 p.m. — An officer issued a person a citation after witnessing a road rage incident which involved spinning tires at Mill and Margin streets.

8:31 p.m. — Police received a call a person was setting off fireworks from a Hancock Street roof. Police said there were 15 people at the residence and a man was advised not to shoot off anymore fireworks.

9:15 p.m. — A stolen dress was reported on Wharf Street. 

Friday, Sept. 21

12:08 a.m. — A person throwing acorns near a fountain was reported on Essex Street. 

1:03 a.m. — Police said they observed two men on Central Street with "their hands parallel to the ground in a fighting posture." Police said one left the area, but another refused to leave after police told him to various times. Police said he was then seen on New Derby Street speaking loudly. Four kids walked by and the man appeared to say something to two girls who looked as if they were going to smack the man, police said. Police said it appeared the man was intoxicated, and as they were taking him into protective custody, he resisted and was arrested. Dennis Landry (see below) is facing a disorderly conduct charge. 

1:12 p.m. — A Hazel Street caller reported she woke up to noise and found a woman nude from the waste down in the rear of her apartment. Police said the woman "was obviously intoxicated and believed she was home." When she was told she was in the wrong residence, police said she left. Police found a screen that was open and it "appeared the drunken woman entered the wrong home and disrobed, leaving behind jeans, panties and sandals." 

9:24 a.m. — Police said a past break-in was reported on Willow Avenue. 

10:26 p.m. — A hypodermic needle was found and disposed of on Essex street. 

10:31 p.m. — A man reported he was assaulted and robbed by two men earlier that day on Bridge Street. 

1:20 p.m. — A South Pine Street caller reported she saw a man trying to get in a window of a home. 

Thursday Arrests

Dennis J. Landry Jr., 35, of 15 Dodge St. in Beverly was arrested on a disorderly person charge.

Paul Neil Vasey, 35, of 33 Walter St. in Lynn was arrested on a warrant.
