20-Person Street Fight Reported

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police log:

Friday, Sept. 7

  • At 5:15 p.m., police responded to an accident on Valley Street. When police arrived, they were able to remove the driver after she was rear-ended. The driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
  • At 6:13 p.m., police were called to Lemon Street for a dog chasing a cat.
  • At 9:39 p.m., police called over a vehicle and found the driver to have a warrant out for her arrest.
  • At 10:49 p.m., loud music was reported on Bay View Avenue.
  • At 11:31 p.m., a police cruiser was parked on Washington Street when it was struck by a car. There were no injuries.

  • At 12:43 a.m., police reported to Derby Street for a man in the street, yelling at passing cars. The man was placed in protective custody.
  • At 12:57 a.m., a patron broke the door to the Ward 2 Social Club.

  • At 1:48 a.m., a man was reported without a shirt, yelling on Derby Street. The man said he was just talking loudly.
  • At 2:14 a.m., a loud party was reported on Mason Street.
  • At 2:18 a.m., a loud party was reported on Gardner Street.
  • At 2:29 a.m., a loud party was reported on Hancock Street.
  • At 2:42 a.m., a loud party was reported on English Street.
  • At 3:05 a.m., a loud party was reported on Jefferson Avenue.
  • At 6:36 p.m., police were called to Staples on Paradise Road, for a man following girls in the store, taking photos of them. The man then bought a chair. The manager provided police with the man's name on a receipt and phone number. Police called the man, who said he was taking photos of the chairs before he purchased one. Police told the man to exercise better judgement in the future.
  • At 11:02 p.m., loud music was reported on Salem Street.
  • At 11:22 p.m., loud music was reported on Proctor Street.

Sunday, Sept. 9

  • At 12:14 a.m., a loud party was reported on Lafayette Street.
  • At 12:36 a.m., a loud party was reported on Canal Street.
  • At 1 a.m., police were called to a party on Loring Avenue. When they arrived, they found a woman drinking a beer outside on a public sidewalk. The woman threw the can when she saw police.
  • At 1:08 a.m., a loud party was reported on Loring Avenue.
  • At 1:36 a.m., a loud party was reported on Loring Avenue.
  • At 1:50 a.m., a loud party was reported on West Avenue.
  • At 9 a.m., undesirables were reportedly "harassing tourists" on New Liberty Street.
  • At 1:45 p.m., police were called to Salem Street for a domestic disturbance.
  • At 1:46 p.m., police arrested
