No handicapped parking at Leslie's Dog Park

Handicapped patrons at Leslie's Dog Park in Salem are deprived of accessible parking and walking distance to entrance of park fenced area. No specific HP spaces, near entrance!!
Need emergency measures passed by council for HP people at least 3 spaces for existing
disabled. Pass bill ASAP!
thanks,
HP patron and canine parent.

I agree with the handicapped parking at the dog park. I am handicapped and the walk from parking lot to the gate is stressful, especially in winter. We do need some spaces for the handicapped.

Have you made proper notifications to the Salem Commission on Disabilities and the City Council or are you just going to post it here and hope somebody else is sensible enough to do that?

Yes in contact with Councilmam Paul Prevey, who is aware of situation, and will follow up with necessary steps for an answer to this problem.

Sounds like a great idea. Can you please explain why 3 spots? I found this online ADA guide which looks like it suggests 1 spot for a parking lot that has up to 25 spaces. Thank you. http://www.ada.gov/restripe.htm

Well, at present we have 3-4 patrons with handicaps at the park.
