Dog of the Day: September 20: ChiChi

ChiChi is an amazing little Chihuahua girl who loves to play. She is seven years old but acts like she is three. ChiChi enjoys running around and investigating everything. When she tuckers out she loves to be on your lap snuggling.

ChiChi arrived at NEAS on Sept. 8th. She was rescued from a county pound in Florida where she was scheduled to be euthanized because no one came to claim her. ChiChi would probably be happiest as your only dog because she tends to be a little bossy to other dogs. We are not sure how she would be with children although typically Chihuahuas are happiest in a home without too much commotion.

We do not know how she behaves in a home so we would recommend you treat her like a puppy when you first bring her home. Take her out frequently so she can adjust to your housebreaking schedule and do not give her free access to your whole house so she doesn’t get into any trouble, at least until you get to know her better and she gets to know what you expect from her.
