Obituary: Sylvester John Gale, 68, Formerly of Salem

Here is the obituary for Sylvester John Gale, 68, formerly of Salem.

Sylvester John Gale age 68 of Lynn, formerly of Salem, died peacefully on May 7, 2014 at the Grosvenor Park Nursing Home. He was predecessed by his wife Sharon Ann (Tannett) Gale. Born in Cambridge, MA, Mr. Gale was raised by the Dennis and the Niswander families of Salem, MA. He joined the Army in 1963 after completing his education and proudly served his country. Following his discharge he became a machinist working for General Electric and later became an inspector. After leaving GE he owned and operated The Bait Shop on Hubon Street in Salem. He then enjoyed being employed with Fiesta Shows in New England operating the photo booth. He loved animals and most especially his Pekinese “Katie”.

Mr. Gale is survived by three children, Thomas Gale and his wife Elizabeth, John Gale and Traci Healey and her husband John all of Salem; eight grandchildren, Rebecca, Katelinn, Kylie, Thomas Jr., Kelsey, Zachary, Alex, and Lynn and her husband James. He also leaves 3 great grandchildren.

His Memorial service will be held on Saturday May 17, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (corner of North St.) Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend starting at noon. Interment will be private. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Plummer Home 37 Winter Island Road, Salem, MA or The Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA.
