OBITUARY: Robert J. Jaworski

Here is the obituary for Robert J. Jaworski, 80, of Salem.

Robert J. Jaworski, 80, of Salem, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at Blueberry Hill Healthcare, Beverly, following a lengthy illness. 

Born and educated in Salem, he was the son of the late John and Frances (Rakoc) Jaworski and was a graduate of Salem High School. An honorably discharged veteran of the Korean War, Robert proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Naval Occupation Service Medal. 

Robert was employed by the City of Salem as a custodian for most of his adult life. He enjoyed boating and owned his own boat for many years. He loved Polish dancing, especially the polkas and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. 

He is survived by a brother, Louis Jaworski and his wife Teresa of Salem; a sister, Jane Jaworski of Peabody; two sisters-in-law, Roz Jaworski and Gina Jaworski both of Salem and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by two sisters, Madeline Kotkowski and Alice Morin and four brothers, Albert, Stanley, Henry and Teddy Jaworski. 

Arrangements: A graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, North St., Salem, closer to Spring. Relatives and friends will be invited to meet at the cemetery once a date has been chosen.
