OBITUARY: Ora L. (Willard) Anderson

Ora L. (Willard) Anderson, 96, wife of the late Henry A. Anderson, of Salem, died Friday morning, January 17, 2014 following a brief illness.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Melvin D. and Hattie C. (Reed) Willard and was a lifelong resident of the city. Following high school, she attended Burdett School of Business in Lynn.

Prior to her retirement in the early 1980’s, Ora was employed for over 35 years as an executive secretary at GTE Sylvania at the Boston Street, Salem plant and later at the corporate headquarters on Endicott Street in Danvers, from which she retired.

She is survived by her stepson, two grandsons, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Lois R. Willard, brother, George J. Willard and granddaughter Kristin M. Anderson.

At Ora’s request, private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Donations may be made in her name to the charity of your choice
