Obituary: Linda D. Lingaitis Szczesny, 74, of Salem

Linda Day Lingaitis Szczesny, 74, of Salem, passed away May 15, 2014 in Beverly following a lengthy illness. 

Born in Lynn, MA , the daughter of the late Charles and Mabel (Sweeney) Day, Linda was a graduate of Salem High School. She worked for many years at Parker Brothers in Salem and later for LaFiesta in Beverly as the Bar Manager. Later in life, Linda continued her education at North Shore Community College. Linda enjoyed spending time as an Auxillary Member of the American Legion, Spear Post 331 in Beverly. She loved eating chop suey sandwiches at the Salem Willows, and above all, Linda loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Lana McLean of Swampscott, MA , Lisa Southam of Palm Coast, FL; a son, David Szczesny of Beverly; a brother, Harvey Day and his wife Marie of E. Bridgewater, MA ; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews including Maria Nadolna of Salem, and Kathleen Fowler of NH. Linda was predeceased by a brother, Richard Day of Marblehead, and a sister, Patricia Ingemi of Salem.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. (Rt.1A/114) Salem, Sunday from 11am to 2pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to Lifebridge, PO Box 810 Salem, MA 01970.
