Magic Ball Scarf: Beginning Knitting

Instructor: Jan Pacak

Fee: $40

Age 10 to Adult

Learn 3 basic knitting techniques! You will make a beautiful summer-weight scarf using the magic ball technique! Rarely do we use up every inch of yarn that we buy for a project. Eventually, most knitters are overwhelmed with leftovers. Here's a fun way to use them up and create a beautiful knitted item at the same time. It's called "magic ball" knitting, and we will use beautiful yarns provided in the cost of the workshop!

Basic Cartoons for Kids

Saturday, May 12 & 19 from 1PM to 3PM

Instructor: Jason Lapham

Fee: $50

Age 7 to 12

This exciting class will teach children many aspects of cartooning, from basic cartooning using simple shapes through to drawing advanced cartoons from television. Starting with the basic circle, your child will learn the basics of facial expression and proportion, all while creating a world of character and motivation. We will then move on to situations to draw, and place the characters in. Just paper and a pencil will be enough to take your child on this journey!

Color Class for Pre-Teens and Teens

Wednesday, May 17, 24 & 31

5Pm to 7PM

Instructor: Olga Gernovski, exhibiting artist, member of Rockport Art Association and Marblehead Art Association

This class introduces your child to the knowledge and practical training of color harmony, and gives them the opportunity to grow as young artists.  The curriculum for the introduction of color combination for a painting has been designed for 10 to 15 year olds to strengthen their knowledge in art, and help further develop their pictorial skills.  Each class will start from a demonstration along with an explanation.  They will then follow-up with a color exercise.

This class will provide all the guidance necessary to embroider a small design using a number of the most used stitches. Apart from having fun, these sessions will give you the confidence to try some of the more specialized classes.
