This month Salem First Friday will be kicking off the holidays! On top of the great events that over 30 of the cities fantastic small businesses came up with it is also the night that Santa arrives on top of the Hawthorne Hotel and heads over to the mall to meet and greet! This month alot of the fantastic businesses have come up with some great individual events as well as working together to create some great group events.
Down at Pickering Wharf five of the businesses (fLirt, The Hungry Whale, RJ Coins and Jewelry, The Picklepot and Crafter's Market) will be offering Chocolate and Wine on the Wharf. The Happy Sunflower will be offering a free keepsake ornament for every purchase of $20. and the newest tenants at The Scarlet Letter Press will be having a Sinterklaass celebration with traditional Dutch treats and ornaments for the little ones to decorate.
Over at Artists Row the Salem Arts Association will be hosting the Boy Scouts as they sell wreaths, next door at Salem Collective of Artists and Musicians they will be having ornament decoration for the little ones that they can take or leave in the gallery on the official S.C.A.M. tree and to top it all off The Lobster Shanty will be hosting "Shanty Claws" with Hot Cocoa and Cookies!
Some other fantastic stand outs are A Beautiful Corset/J'Adore Romantic Gifts who will be hosting a cooking demonstration for couples featuring scallops and how to prepare them. Boston Bead Works will be selling pieces created by their Artisan employee's and will be having a raffle.
The Salem YMCA will be offering child care From 6:00-9:00pm leave your 5-12 year old at the Salem Y and while you enjoy First Friday events your kids will enjoy well supervised gym activities, gymnastics, sports, arts and crafts, swimming, and dancing!
