What's Open and Closed in Salem on Thanksgiving?

Retail stores will be closed on Thanksgiving in Massachusetts.

Here's a look at what's open and closed on Thanksgiving in Salem:

Restaurants, bars:
 Some will be open. Check for hours.

Convenience stores: 
Many will be open. Check for special hours.

Supermarkets:
 Closed.

Retail stores:
 Unlike most states, Massachusetts retail stores will be closed on Thanksgiving.

Liquor stores:
 Closed.

Town, State and Federal offices and facilities are closed: 
This includes schools, libraries and the Postal Service. Only emergency services are available.

Except in the case of town, state and federal offices, many establishments in the categories listed above will reopen on Friday, Nov. 29.

The Postal Service will resume mail delivery on Friday, Nov. 29.

Other government offices will reopen on Monday, Dec. 2.
