Salem Offering Free Parking on Christmas Eve
Parking will be free in Salem on Dec. 24, 2013.
The city of Salem issued the following announcement Thursday afternoon:
In order to encourage residents to shop local and support Salem’s small businesses this holiday season, Mayor Kim Driscoll has announced that all parking in Salem will be free on Tuesday, December 24.
This includes all on-street parking meters, City surface lots, and parking garages. Information about parking in Salem is online athttp://parkinginsalem.com.
“I hope everyone doing their last minute holiday shopping will keep our local small retailers and shops in mind,” said Mayor Driscoll. “To make it just a bit easier for all of you late shoppers, the City will not be charging for parking on December 24th. Now you don’t have an excuse!”
