Fireworks, Fourth of July Concert Rescheduled

The kids activities, food tents, concert and fireworks have been rescheduled because of the threat of rain on Friday, July 4th.

The fireworks over Salem Harbor and most other Fourth of July festivities in Salem have been postponed and rescheduled for Sunday, July 6.

Mayor Kimberley Driscoll said in a Facebook post that the fireworks, concert and kids games that typically happen on Derby Wharf on Independence Day have been moved to Sunday, July 6 because of the weather forecast.

The one thing that will go ahead on Friday is the reading of the Declaration of Independence at 9 a.m. at the Hawthorne Hotel.
