The holiday season is upon us, and that means tons of concerts, plays, events, festivals and more in Boston and the surrounding area.

The Mayor's Holiday Spectacular is a partnership with Mayor Thomas Menino, ArtsBoston and the Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau to make some of these festive events a little more affordable for families.

1. $10, First Night ButtonsOutdoor First Night events are free, but you'll need a button for a break from the cold in one of the indoor events

2. FREE, $10 restaurant voucher:
 Spend $40 at one of the participating restaurants and take $10 off the bill with this printable voucher. And we're talking about some swank places, like Brasserie JO, Rowe's Wharf and Osaka in Brookline.

3. Half price: Sing-Along Mary Poppins: Think you reallyknow all the words to "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious?" Prove it at this sing-along performance of the classic children's film at Arlington's Regent Theater.

4. Half price: A Christmas Story, The MusicalJean Shepard's book about one Christmas in his youth was made into a cult classic film. Now see the story set to music on and Wang Theater stage.

5. Half price: Holiday Pops: Join the Pops as they play some of your favorite holiday sons in Symphony Hall. Santa may drop by for a visit!

6. FREE: Blink! A Holiday Light and Sound Extravaganza:Head over to Faneuil Hall for this light and music show.

7. Half price: Black Nativity: This program sets the story of the nativity to song and dance performed at Northeastern University's Blackman Auditorium.

8. Half price: It's A Wonderful Life Radio Play: You know the movie by heart, now hear it come alive in this creative radio play performed at Wheelock College's Family Theater.

9. Half price, Disney On Ice: Watch all of your favorite Disney characters lace up the skates and dance in this time-honored classic, set this year at the Agganis Arena.
