Youth Get to the Point Day!

Youth Get to the Point Day!

North Shore CDC is hosting the 4th annual Youth Get to the Point Day on Thursday, April 10, 2014 in the Salem Point neighborhood, beginning at 3 pm. (Rain date: Friday April 11, 2014). All are welcome to attend the day of service focused on creating a positive neighborhood change during national community service week. Last year, the event attracted over 100 youth and more than 10 Salem organizations.

The day encompasses both hands-on service learning projects and a festival celebrating the impact of the projects and partners. Service projects will be taking place from 3 pm-5 pm, followed by a festival in the Peabody Street Park until 7 pm. The festival will includes informational booths, entertainment from youth, music, prizes and complimentary food.

North Shore CDC’s Youth Get to the Point is sponsored by Massachusetts Service Alliance, YouthBuild North Shore, Beverly Cooperative Bank, Ben Franklin Tees, The House of the Seven Gables, The City of Salem, The Peabody Essex Museum, Salem Rotary, and Highrock Church. Participating sponsors include the Point Neighborhood Association, Marblehead Zen Center, Plummer Home’s On Point, Salem YMCA, Salem Cyberspace, Salem Education Foundation, Boys and Girls Club of Greater Salem, North Shore Community Health Inc., Salem Community Child Care Center and North Shore Youth Career Center.
