Underwater in Salem Sound Lecture Series

"Changing Climate, Changing Fishes"
Sponsored by Salem Sound Coastwatch & Marblehead's Abbot Public Library

In the 1700’s Salem Sound was filled with Cod, but now—not so much.  In the mid 1900’s Salem Sound was filled with winter flounder, but now—not so much.  What fish are swimming in our local coastal waters now? This question will be addressed by Dr. Michael Armstrong, Assistant Director of the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries. In this illustrated talk, Dr. Armstrong will share his knowledge of changing fish populations and how changing water temperatures have added another factor that is affecting the mix of local fish species.

Free and open to the public. For more information contact Salem Sound Coastwatch, 978-741-7900 or email info@salemsound.org
