This is a historic year for the School Committee election in Salem -
there are eight candidates for three open slots. That means that there
are enough candidates to hold a primary election on September 17th!
Voter turnout in primary elections is typically low, so the Salem
Education Foundation (SEF) has scheduled the first School Committee
Candidate Forum to raise awareness and
interest among voters in this year's School Committee election. The SEF is a
non-partisan non-profit organization and, as such, the Forum is a
non-partisan event that all registered School Committee candidates have
been invited
to attend and plan to attend. We are grateful to Karen Andreas, of the
Eagle Tribune/Salem News, who will moderate the Forum.
