Please join us as we rebuild the trailhead to beautiful Salem Woods.
The trail entrance at Olde Salem Greens' parking lot is eroded from rain runoff, making it steep and treacherous. Repair work consists of building stone water breaks to divert rainwater to the side, and filling the spaces between breaks with soil. When complete, the trail's grade will be gentle and safe.
We've already begun the project over the past weeks, and will complete it on Saturday, 11/9 (rain date 11/10). Most of the work will be shoveling dirt into wheelbarrows, bringing it a short distance to the trail, and raking it into place. Those who are able can also help with the stone work.
