Salem Philharmonic Orchestra Winter Season - First Concert

This is the first in a series of three concerts in the Salem Philharmonic 2013 Winter Season.


These annual free concerts date back to 1904.


The Salem Philharmonic is a 45 piece orchestra of mostly professional musicians and a few talented amateurs.

This opening concert will feature Piano soloist, Chia-Jung Tsay performing Beethoven's Emperor Concerto. She debuted at Carnegie Hall at the age of 16 and has performed throughout the United States and many international venues.


Chai-Jung Tsay graduated from both the Juilliard School and Harvard University. Tsay holds two Master of Music degreess from the Peabody Conservatory.

The Salem Philharmonic Orchestra is led by Mr. Alan Hawryluk. This is his 46th year as the Conductor. In 1997 he was named Orchestra Director of the Year by the Masschusetts School Orchestra Association.
