Corporate Leaders Headline Million Dollar Women Symposium

The Enterprise Center at Salem State University recently announced that its popular Million Dollar Women symposium will take place Wednesday, November 14th, at the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem.  The focus for this year is on corporate leaders, women who have risen through the ranks to become the presidents or CEOs of companies with multi-million dollar annual revenues.  Million Dollar Women has been sponsored since its inception by Beverly Cooperative Bank.

Leading off the impressive roster of participants is Karen Andreas, publisher of The Salem News of Beverly, who will give the keynote address.  She will be joined by Karen Bressler, CEO, Agar Supply Company, Inc. of Taunton; Julie Livingston, President and CEO, Marblehead Bank of Marblehead; Linda Moulton, CEO, Ceralta Technologies, Inc. of Peabody; Mary Puma, Chairman and CEO, Axcelis Technologies, Inc. of Beverly; Carole Wedge, President, Shepley Bulfinch of Boston.  Additional information on the program and participants is available at enterprisectr.org.

“The proverbial glass ceiling still exists,” commented Enterprise Center CEO Christine Sullivan.  “These women have broken through in style.  Given that so many women work in a corporate environment, the stories and advice of this year’s panel should be particularly relevant and well received.”

“Advice” is an appropriate word to use in conjunction with The Million Dollar Women Symposium, as it has become known for the rare opportunity it presents for aspiring business women to hear firsthand how these women achieved success, to ask them questions, and to benefit from the advice they share. “Attendees find it empowering,” said Laura Swanson, the COO of the Enterprise Center. She added, “Many attendees tell me how much they appreciate our panelists’ willingness to share their personal as well as professional challenges in their rise to the top. It makes for a very special and inspiring event. In fact, prior panelists often return to the luncheon year after year.”

The Million Dollar Women Symposium often sells out and early registration is suggested. The event begins at 8:00 with a full breakfast buffet, and will conclude by 11:30 AM. The price is $50 and special rates for tables of eight are also available. Register at enterprisectr.org or by calling 978-542-7528.
