Essex Heritage Hero Award Dinner

Since arriving at what is now Green
Meadows Farm in South Hamilton in 1928, the Patton family has had a history of
public service and preserving the natural and cultural resources in Essex
County.  On Wednesday, October 16, the
Essex National Heritage Commission will celebrate Joanne Holbrook Patton and
three generations of the Patton family for their commitment to our region and
the country at the annual Essex Heritage Hero Award Dinner.  A highlight of the evening will be a display
of rarely seen Patton family personal memorabilia and military artifacts,
including war correspondence between General George S. Patton and his son, the
Major General Patton.

The Essex Heritage Hero Award is given
each year by the Essex National Heritage Commission and the National Park
Service in recognition of the special contributions of individuals whose
dedication and service have helped to advance the goals most valued at Essex
Heritage – regional partnerships that improve the quality of life in the region
by preserving and promoting our precious and unique resources.

The 2013 Essex Heritage Hero Award
Dinner will be held on Wednesday, October 16 at the Danversport Yacht Club, 131
Elliot St., Danvers, MA  beginning at
5:30 pm.  Proceeds from the evening will
benefit Essex Heritage programs which support resources in all 34 cities and
towns in the county.  Tickets are $150
per person; Active and retired military may purchase discounted tickets for
$135 per person.  Sponsorship
opportunities are also available.
