Christmas in Salem--Ports of Call

Join Historic
Salem, Inc. for “Christmas in Salem—Ports of Call” in the historic Derby Street
neighborhood. Private homes and historic organizations will be beautifully
decorated for the holiday season and open for tours throughout the weekend of
December 6-8, 2013.



 



Besides
enjoying the architecture that came from Salem’s Great Age of Sail, visitors
are invited to join in a variety of other holiday events that will be happening
in Salem, Mass.  Free events for ticket
holders include the Salem Wine Imports Wine Tastings on Friday and Saturday and
the Derby Street Walking Tour, led by Jim McAllister of Derby Square Tours on
Saturday. The Salem Garden Club will be featuring a holiday boutique to support
citywide beautification projects. The Hawthorne Hotel will be offering a AAA
travel package that weekend for the Christmas in Salem events. New this year
will be a special Friday evening spice tour and tasting with Salem Food Tours
and the Picklepot.

The Salem Trolley
will be offering service between the tour sites, the Boys and Girls Club of
Greater Salem headquarters, and downtown Salem all day Saturday and Sunday. On
Friday night, advance ticket holders are welcome to enjoy a candlelight preview
of four grand homes.

Tickets are
$30.00 until November 28, 2012 and $35.00 on the day of the event.  Advance tickets for members of Historic
Salem, Inc. will cost $25.00. Advance tickets are available at a host of local
retailers as well as www.christmasinsalem.org.
