An Evening with Tom Kelley, Medal of Honor Recipient

Marian Court College 50th Anniversary Speaker Series:

A True American Hero

Captain Tom Kelley
Medal of Honor Recipient, U.S. Navy (ret.)

Join us to meet Captain Kelley and his co-author and wife, Joan Kelley, J.D., U.S. Navy Reserve (ret.) as they discuss their new memoir.

Captain Kelley received the Medal of Honor for his actions as a U.S. Navy officer during the Vietnam War.  During a mission to extract a U.S. Army Infantry company from a canal bank in South Vietnam, his convoy came under attack and Kelley suffered a severe head injury.  Unable to stand or speak clearly, he continued to relay directions to the convoy until his crippled boat was repaired and the group was able to move out.  Following his retirement, Captain Kelley worked as a civilian in the Department of Defense and later served as the Secretary of the Massachusetts Department of Veterans Services until his retirement in 2011.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at www.mariancourt.edu; free for students and active military.  Proceeds will benefit The Ahern Family Charitable Foundation and Marian Court College Scholarships.

Marian Court College is a Yellow Ribbon Program participant.
