North Shore Residents Will Have Lots To Do In Danvers This Fourth of July

There are many fun events taking place on July 3rd and 4th here in Danvers. The fireworks festival on July 3rd has been a hit for many years for residents on the North Shore.

There are many fun events taking place on July 3rd and 4th here in Danvers. The fireworks festival on July 3rd has been a hit for many years for residents on the North Shore. The festivities include music, dancing, fun, food, games, and rides for the kids. At 4:00 pm, the area’s best food trucks from Boston and surrounding areas will be serving food. Some of the vendors include Grilled Cheese Nation, Speed dog, Sweet Tomatoes Pizza, Baja Tacos, Chicken n Rice Guys, The Pasta Pot, Lobstah Love, The Chubby Chickpea, The Cookie Monstah, and Kickass Cupcakes. The stage show starts at 6:00 pm with the winner of Danvers Idol performing. There will be a patriotic program honoring our men and women of the military at 8:30 pm. On July 4th, the first event of the day is Highlands Horrible Parade. The parade will take place from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. All are welcome to dress up themselves, their wagons, their bikes, make their own floats, or just march in their most festive Fourth of July attire. The parade will go from Seaboard Products to the Training Ground / Highland Common on Centre Street. Prizes for ‘Most Horrible,’ ‘Most like Danvers,’ ‘Most Patriotic,’ and other categories will be awarded at the Commons. Refreshments for participants will be provided. The Back Bay Parade begins just as the Highlands Horrible Parade comes to a close. The parade will assemble at 10:30 am on the corner of Damon and Porter St. The parade will run through local neighborhoods. All are welcome to the parade and are encouraged to bring costumes, decorated doll carriages, bicycles, and wagons. Those who have antique cars are welcome to take them out to the parade for a spin. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and sports groups are also encouraged to partake in the parade. The parade will run from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. For more information, contact Mary Jo O’Connell 978-774-7572.

The Library Book Sale will also take place on July 4th.The annual book sale features used books in excellent condition, videos, books on tape, and CDs. There will also be a large selection of large print books. The money raised from the sale is used for the Museum Pass program, performances, and a variety of library projects.
