Ward 6 Recount Confirms Gerard Victory
A recount Monday confirmed that Beth Gerard won the Ward 6 election in Salem.
After more than two hours of hand-counting ballots, Beth Gerard's narrow victory over Ward 6 incumbent Paul C. Prevey was confirmed during a recount at City Hall Monday night.
According to the city's official election results, Gerard defeated incumbent Prevey by 16 votes earlier this month - 483 to 467.
Monday's recount ended with a similar tally of Gerard 484, Prevey 468.
