VINTAGE SALEM: The Blizzard of 1978

Here's another selection from the Dionne vintage Salem collection.

Nelson Dionne is sharing more of his extensive Salem collection with Salem Patch.

In light of the fact that hasn't had to bring out the plows yet even though it's January, Nelson helped us turn back time to a prior Salem season when there was lots of snow.

Dionne sent along the following message with the photograph:

"[Here's] Something different — a shot of a Pyburn Construction Co. (Peabody) front end loader. It was usually only used off road in quarries or for clearing land. [In this photo it was] clearing snow at the junction of Bradley and Sumner Roads in Salem after the Blizzard of 1978. This is what it took to clear the amount of snow that fell, making this storm a much remembered event. Still miss snow?"
