Salem's So Sweet to Bring Romance Downtown

A weekend of Valentine's Day cheer begins next week.

From sweethearts to sweet treats, Salem's So Sweet Chocolate & Ice Sculpture Festival is just around the corner.

Salem Main Streets and local businesses are prepping to welcome more than 15 frozen guests including a dragon, Marilyn Monroe, the Viking, and TinTin in the form of ice sculptures, so keep your fingers crossed for cold weather.

Free and paid events are looking to get in the romantic spirit with chocolate tastings and Valentines makings in the downtown area.

Weather permitting, will offer trolley ride for $1 for those interested in enjoying the ice sculptures and having a truly Salem experience.

Area restaurants and shops will be offering samples and discounts.
If you're making a weekend of the event, be sure to get your hands on a Golden Ticket. Get your card validated at eight participating businesses and drop it off at the by Valentine's day for a chance to win a gift basket.

"We have lots of great chocolate samples and fun for everyone," said Jennifer Bell of Salem Main Streets.

"We're really trying to make Salem the North Shore destination for Valentine's Day."
