Salem Man Gets Up to 13 Years for Child Rape

A Salem man has been sentenced to serve up to 13 years in prison for raping a girl beginning when she was only a 9-year-old.

Wilfredo Alas was sentenced in Superior Court Monday to the jail term and also to 10 years of probation on charges of child rape, attempted child rape, and indecent assault and battery on a child, according to the Boston Herald. 

He also faces deportation to his native El Salvador.
