Rain to Switch Over to Snow Sunday

Salem is expected to get between two and four inches of snow before the end of the day Sunday.

Though the first round of precipitation Saturday evening brought mostly rain to the city of Salem - that doesn't mean we're out of the woods just yet.

The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect rain showers to switch over to snow showers sometime after 2 p.m. Sunday. The total daytime snow accumulation will be about an inch.

These light snow showers are expected to persist into the night Sunday with new snow accumulation between 2 to 4 inches possible before the sun rises for the Monday morning commute, according to Channel 7 Weather Expert Pete Bouchard's latest blog post.
