Plummer Home Boys Breaking in New Digital Drum Set

Salem's Plummer Home for Boys was recently awarded a $5,000 grant toward the organization's growing music program.

Teens at the Plummer Home for Boys are well-known in Salem for their musical abilities - the organization produces an annual album and sends boys to perform at concerts in the city.

Last week, the organization was awarded a $5,000 grant through Ernie Boch Jr.’s Music Drives Us foundation and used some of the funding to pay for a new state-of-the-art digital drumset.

So, on Tuesday, we sat down with Plummer Home Executive Director James Lister to discuss the organization's growing music program and even got to record music instructor Aaron Katz performing "Tranquility" with one of his students, Jaren.
