How Would You Spend Your Last Day in Salem?

With the countdown to the Mayan apocalypse underway, we're asking - how would you spend your last day in Salem?

We're pretty sure that the world isn't going to end on Dec. 21.

But with all this hubbub over the Mayan 2012 prophecy, we have to ask: How would you spend your last day in the city of Salem, if you knew the world was coming to an end?

Before you answer, we'd like you to pretend that depsite the looming apocalypse, all of the city's restaurants and hot spots remained open for business and the roads out of Salem were blocked off.

Would you stay at home with your family?

Would you head out one last time to order your favorite meal at a local restaurant?

Would you catch the last performance of your favorite local band?

Let us know in the comments section below.

And go for Indian or Thai and a Mad Max movie or that Peter Sellers Slim Pickens doomsday film. But I've never seen On The Beach...

I'd grab a plate of stacked nachos at The Tavern and try to catch one last Boston sporting event.

Run a very, very, very large bar tab...Everywhere...While smoking cigarettes and collecting and paying off the bar owners' and my own fines on the spot. In cash. I would use the proceeds from the $250 per cigarette I would charge the "social smokers" (and non-smokers?) who suddenly find it a most attractive habit as the giant ball of flaming death is hurtling across the sky towards us. Na Zdorovie! Got a light?

Can we stop to feed the squirrels on the Common? Can we dance in the elevator in the Salem Waterfront? Should we read a scary story in the Howard St. Cemetery late at night? Lorna (Autumn), I cannot imagine Salem with anyone else but you!! Love, Aurora (Dawn)
