High Wind Warning In Place for Salem for Thursday Morning

Gusts could reach 60 MPH — Gusts even higher have been reported in Boston. The winds could bring down trees, tree limbs and send unsecured objects flying around the city.

High winds are a serious concern for Salem residents this morning.

The National Weather Service has declared a High Wind Warning through 9 a.m. Thursday.

Gusts are reaching 60 MPH. Down in Boston, gusts up to 80 MPH have already been reported Thursday morning by WBZ.

The winds could topple trees, knock off tree limbs and send unsecured objects flying around the city. Power lines could also be cut, the Weather Service warns, with scattered outages possible.
