Ask a Salem Expert: Tortelloni Folding With Jean-Louis [VIDEO]

We stopped by Salem's Jean-Louis Pasta Shop Tuesday to learn how to hand-fold tortelloni.

Here at Salem Patch, we're alway looking for new ways to showcase the many expert tradespeople that make the city of Salem such a great place to visit.

So, to kick off our new Ask a Salem Expert column, we stopped by the recently-opened Jean-Louis Pasta Shop on Derby Street Tuesday afternoon to learn from an expert how to hand-fold a tortelloni.

The shop's owner, Jean-Louis Faber, was nice enough to let us record his folding skills - though he makes it look at lot easier than it is.

You can use the video attached to this post as a handy guide when trying to make tortelloni of your own.

Faber recently relocated his business from upstate New York and opened his doors on Derby Street to customers in December.

"I think Salem is the perfect place for this business," Faber said while leading a brief tour around his new space. "Everything here is gourmet and hand-made."

Check out the pasta shop's Facebook page for more information.
