Here are the five things you need to know before you start your day in Salem.

Today is Wednesday, Dec. 19, and here are the five things you need to know:

1. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect it to be mostly cloudy, with a high near 44. Tonight should be mostly cloudy with a low around 32. (sunrise, 7:09 a.m.; low tide, 9:35 a.m.; high tide, 3:53 p.m.; sunset, 4:12 p.m.)

2. Members of the Salem Fire Department responded to the scene of a fuel leak near Salem Station Tuesday morning. Workers from a private clean-up company will continue to clean the scene morning.

3. Salem High School's varsity boys' hockey team will take on Somerville tonight. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., so if you're free consider stopping by to cheer them on.
