2. Who has the best “decked” house in Salem this holiday season? According to users who voted in our annual Deck the House Contest, this home has the best holiday lights in Salem. The photo was sent in by Pauline LeBel Bautista.

3. Members of the Salem Fire Department extinguished their third reported car fire in under a week Monday morning. The vehicle reportedly burst into flames while parked outside of Sunshine Laundry on Boston Street. Click Here for all the details.

5. Today in History: On Dec. 18, 1777, the United States celebrated its first Thanksgiving, making the recent victory by the Americans over General John Burgoyne in the Battle of Saratoga in October.
