On a nearly perfect morning for a run on Thanksgiving Day, close to 1800 runners participated in the 9th Annual Wild Turkey 5 Mile Run to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem.
Caleb Evanter from Marblehead was the overall winner in a time of 26:12 and Kelly Walton from Nahant was the top female in a time of 31:33. Runners came from all over the New England to race, representing 15 states. The Wild Turkey 5 Mile Run continues to be the largest race on the North Shore and is thankful for the support of our runners, volunteers, sponsors and the community. Some interesting statistics are females comprised 57% of the runners to males 43% and the runners ages ranged from 8 years of age to 80.
