Happenings at the Boys & Girls Club

Happenings at the Club

The Kids Performance theater has their auditions coming up for the BIG BAD performance they will be showing this June. Each kid has prepared a monologue and a song and will be auditioning in front of four different directors.  The  Torch club will be going on an Art Tour around Salem to read messages that other artist communicate through their public art. Torch will also continue to design their own mosaic mural that will be hung this May. On Valentine’s day Torch Club had a       baked goods sale to raise money for materials for their mural project! The  Art Club will start to learn about different techniques of watercolor using salt, markers, and crayons. After learning the techniques, they will have the opportunity to create their own piece using these techniques.

The Kids Club is back in the swing of things after a few snow days due to the blizzard.  Children at both Witchcraft & Hawthorne Sites participated in Club Programs; Smart Girls, Lego Club, Music and Hip Hop Dance. We celebrated Valentine's Day by making Valentine's for fellow Club members and decorating our Program room.  The Hawthorne Kids Club would like to thank Stacey Parker, member of the Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors, for donating a brand new Wii!  The children have truly enjoyed this wonderful gift!   This weeks Stars of the week were, Joshua Bolarinwa & Hannah Leonard, Sportsmanship Awards went to, Zane Costello & Christine Napierkowski and our Power Hour Winners were:  KaanJare Nune, Matthew Williams, Arianna Ragonese & Robinson Rodrigues.
