Happenings at the Boys & Girls Club
The SMART girls program prepared for their bake sale by making signs and telling others about what they are raising money for on Monday. On Tuesday, the girls held their baked goods sale and raised money to send art supplies over to an orphanage in Africa. When they were asked them what they learned at the end of the day two girls said, "You have to let people know why it is important to buy what they are buying!" Most of them gained a great perspective that they can make a difference even in the smallest ways.
The -Creative Writing group attended the amazing exhibit, Invention of Glory (the Pastrana Tapestries) at the Peabody Essex Museum. They will toured the exhibit and complete a writing assignment about envisioning themselves as one of the key people in the story.  The Holiday Dance Groups is continuing to practice for their performance at the Holiday Party next week. They have had great practices and continue to provide so much energy to their dancing!
The children of the Kids Club enjoyed an exciting week filled with arts & craft activities, math and literacy games, along with homework help.  The Witchcraft Kids Club had the chance to visit the Peabody Essex Museum, as well as see a Salem High School basketball game.
