Great times at the Boys & Girls Club

Nearly 100 boys and girls were taken to Payless Shoes at the North Shoe Mall to shop for a free pair of shoes donated by Payless.  The Music program is in full swing as the Teens just recorded a CD with our instructors Callie Lipton and Aaron Katz of the “Dejas”.  The 12 and under basketball team lost a close game to Lynn 44-42, Junior Flemming and Randy Luna played great for Salem.   The Club is hosting a Martin Luther King Jr essay contest for members of all ages.  The Power Hour Homework Help winners for the dates of December 14 to January 10 include: Milagros Fabian, Andre Noonan, Annie Welch, Eleanor Seyfried, Lucas Dominguez, Ezequiel Perez, Natalia Rivera, Tatianna Ward, Brandon Walsh, Christina Cameron, Stephen White, Adam DeLeon, Johnny Fabian, Andrew Cameron, Jariel Del Valle, Lorenzo Peguero and Treston Abreu. A Boys & Girls Club Parent’s Association meeting will take place on Thursday evening, January 17.

 Boys & Girls Club Fundraising Events

The Shamrock Sweepstakes will take place on Thursday night March 14, at the Moose Family Lodge on Grove street. The top prize will be $10,000 and only 300 tickets will be sold. Tickets are $100, and can now be purchased at the Boys & Girls Club.  The Boys & Girls Club is putting together a team to enter in the 200-mile 24 hour Reach the Beach Relay Race on May 17-18 from Mt Wachusetts  to Westport, Massachusetts. Members of the team include TR Ramsdell, Doug Bollen, Tennille Doyle, Sharon Hunt, Marina Morierty, Kate MacKay, Kristen Homan, Caroline O’Brien, Beth Crowley, Beth Griffin, Sarah Naugler, and Jackie Washburn.  Each member will be raising $1000 for the Club to participate on the team.
