Tis the Season and there is a lot going on:

December 7th

 - Report Cards go home today for the Elementary Schools
Parent/Teacher conferences will be held on December 19th throughout the day.
There is NO School that day and it's a full professional day.

- Salem First Fridays
Downtown Salem. Open house night with live entertainment, art showings, refreshments and shopping discounts until 8:30 p.m. http://www.salemmainstreets.org

- Santa's Arrival in Salem
5:30 p.m.
, Salem Common, 18 Washington Square. Santa arrives on the Hawthorne Hotel's roof. With help from the Salem Fire Department, Mayor Driscoll and Santa will lead the crowd down Essex Street to the Museum Place Mall, where children can sit on Santa's lap and tell him their Christmas list. FREE. http://www.salemmainstreets.org

- "Fiddler on the Roof Jr."
7:00 p.m., Salem YMCA, Ames Hall, 1 Sewall Street. Y Theatre Company's fall musical production, appropriate for all ages.

December 8th

- Carlton School Yard Sale - 10 Skerry Street, Salem
Come and check it out. All proceeds benefit the students at Carlton for activities. 8 a.m. – noon. You just might find something special.

- Salem Music Boosters 15th Annual Craft Fair a & Holiday Bazaar
9am-3pm 
Salem High School
77 Willson Street, Salem
The event features a raffle, a children's area, baked goods, a concession stand, a visit from Santa, quilts, knitted items, jewelry, shirts and other items from vendors. Entertainment by the high school music groups. All proceeds benefit the Salem High School music and drama programs. FREE admission and plenty of parking.

- Hurricane Sandy toy Drive
Donations of unwrapped toys, games, books, wrapping paper or tape will be collected from noon to 10:00 p.m. at the Tin Whistle, 241 Jefferson Avenue, Salem. Donors will be entered in a raffle to win gift certificates. Santa will be on-site from 1pm to 4pm, followed by a DJ in the evening. Donations will be given to families affected by Hurricane Sandy.
