Stephanie Sladen Named Assistant Executive Directorat Children's Friend and Family Services


Salem, MA-Stephanie Sladen has been named Assistant Executive Director of Children’s Friend and Family Services (Children’s Friend). Sladen brings over 15 years of experience to her new post including training and experience in leadership and direct clinical practice with children, adolescents and their families.  Prior to joining Children’s Friend, she served as Vice President of Children’s Behavioral Health Services at Lahey Health Behavioral Services where she also continued to work directly with kids and families. Along with overseeing various state contracts and grant funded initiatives, she managed the quality, financial integrity and sustainability of the Children’s Behavioral  Division. Sladen serves as a field instructor for several schools of social work including Salem State University where she obtained her Master’s Degree.
“Stephanie is a great addition to the Children’s Friend team. Her operational and clinical experiences align seamlessly with our mission and strategic plan and will allow us to grow in strategic ways,” says Carla M. Saccone, Children’s Friend President and Chief Executive Officer. 
Along with being the recipient of the Elizabeth Funk Emerging Leader Award, she also received the Outstanding Social Work Alumni Award from the Salem State University Friends of the School of Social Work. Sladen completed Boston University’s Executive Management Program; Institute for Non-Profit Management and Leadership and received a Post-Graduate Certificate in Clinical Practice with Children and Adolescents from Smith College School of Social Work. 
“I was attracted to Children’s Friend because it is connected to the community, mission-driven and directly speaks to my own personal goals.  I am especially impressed by the organization’s rich history and that it is relevant today,” says Sladen.  She is looking forward to bringing Children’s Friend’s evidence-based practice models deep into the community to serve children and their families particularly those affected by trauma, children of families involved with the military, and young children under the age of five.
