Went a few days info opening and Turner's had food and service issues. We went for a simple chowder and salad dinner. Clam chowder had little clam or briny flavor. Oyster Stew had no flavor. Caesar salad was good. Asked for bread and it was served with no butter, oil or dip. When asked about it, the waitress said that their policy is not to serve anything with a basket of bread unless the customer asks. How does one know to ask? Have you ever been served a basket of bread without at least something you accompany it? This policy also requires a follow up trip by the waitress. Unfortunately, we waited and waited. When we were able to flag down our waitress, she was dismayed that someone else hadn't done that. Anyway, I'm willing to attribute certain things to growing pains. But not sure if bread policy and chowder recipes are among them.

walked in just to sit at the bar and not even a welcome, just" did you call ahead?" It was so loud we declined, but this isnt a great way to start off. Time will tell, but with all the great food in Salem, they better improve.
